Silver Creek was a small village located in Newton County, Missouri, in the United States. In 2010, about 623 people lived there. It was part of the larger Joplin Metropolitan Area.
On August 7, 2012, something big happened. The people living in Silver Creek and the nearby city of Joplin voted to join together. This means Silver Creek became a part of Joplin.

History of Silver Creek
Silver Creek once had its own schoolhouse. The school was named after a nearby stream, which is also called Silver Creek. This shows how important the creek was to the community.
Where is Silver Creek Located?
Silver Creek is found southeast of where two major roads meet: U.S. Route 71 and I-44. The community of Saginaw is just one mile south of where Silver Creek used to be.
The stream named Silver Creek flows along the west side of the area. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village covered about 0.80 square miles (2.07 square kilometers) of land, with no water areas.
