Simisola Shittu (born November 7, 1999) is a professional basketball player from Canada. He was born in Britain but moved to Canada when he was young. Simisola plays for the Winnipeg Sea Bears basketball team. Before becoming a professional, he played college basketball for the Vanderbilt Commodores. He was considered one of the best high school basketball players in 2018.

Simisola's Early Life
Simisola Shittu was born in Harrow, London, England. His family has roots in Nigeria and the Caribbean. When he was five years old, Simisola moved to Canada. Later, before starting high school, he moved to the United States. He did this to play against tougher competition and improve his basketball skills.
High School Basketball Journey
Simisola Shittu was a highly-rated basketball player during his high school years. He attended several schools to develop his game. These included Corpus Christi Catholic Secondary School in Burlington, Ontario, Montverde Academy in Montverde, Florida, and Vermont Academy in Saxtons River, Vermont. His talent was recognized early, and he was invited to play in important games like the McDonald's All-American Game and the Jordan Brand Classic in 2018. These games feature the best high school players in the country.
College Basketball Experience
After high school, Simisola Shittu played college basketball for the Vanderbilt Commodores for one season (2018–2019). During his freshman year, he played in 32 games. He averaged about 10.9 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. After this season, he decided to try for the 2019 NBA draft to become a professional player.
Simisola's Professional Career
Simisola Shittu began his professional basketball career in 2019. Even though he was not chosen in the NBA draft, he joined the Memphis Grizzlies for the NBA Summer League. This is a chance for new players to show their skills.
Playing for the Windy City Bulls
In October 2019, Simisola signed with the Chicago Bulls. He was later assigned to their G League team, the Windy City Bulls. The G League is like a development league for the NBA. During his time with the Windy City Bulls, he had a great game where he scored 32 points and grabbed 21 rebounds. He played for them until 2020.
Time with the Westchester Knicks
In January 2021, Simisola joined the Westchester Knicks, another G League team. He played well, averaging 14.4 points and 10.1 rebounds per game.
Playing Overseas
Simisola also played basketball in other countries. In November 2021, he signed with Ironi Ness Ziona in Israel. He played there until 2022.
Back in the G League
In August 2022, Simisola signed with the Orlando Magic but was later assigned to their G League team, the Lakeland Magic. He played for them until February 2023. After that, he was traded to the Iowa Wolves, another G League team.
Canadian Elite Basketball League
In May 2023, Simisola returned to Canada to play for the Calgary Surge in the Canadian Elite Basketball League. He had a very successful season there. He was named to the All-CEBL First Team and the CEBL All-Canadian Team. He also led the league in rebounding, showing his strength in getting the ball back for his team.
More International Teams
After his time in Canada, Simisola continued to play for teams around the world. In July 2023, he signed with Limoges CSP in France. In December 2023, he moved to Kolossos Rodou in Greece. In August 2024, he joined Yukatel Merkezefendi in Turkey. Then, in December 2024, he returned to Greece to play for Promitheas Patras.
Joining the Winnipeg Sea Bears
As of 2025, Simisola Shittu is playing for the Winnipeg Sea Bears in the Canadian Elite Basketball League. He continues to be a strong player, known for his rebounding and scoring abilities.
