Simon Biwott (born on 3 March 1970) is a famous former long-distance runner from Kenya. He is best known for winning the silver medal in the men's marathon at the 2001 World Championships in Athletics. This big race took place in Edmonton, Canada.

Simon Biwott also won several other important marathons. A year after his silver medal, he won the Rotterdam Marathon. He also achieved first place in marathons in Cancún, Mexico City (in 1998), Berlin, Milan (in 2000), and Paris (in 2001). His fastest time in a marathon was 2 hours, 6 minutes, and 49 seconds. He achieved this at the 2002 Berlin Marathon.

Interestingly, Simon Biwott was a surprise winner at the 2000 Berlin Marathon. He had originally entered the race just to be a pacemaker. A pacemaker helps other runners keep a certain speed for part of the race. After his running career, he decided to open a private school in his hometown of Eldoret.
