Simon Majumdar (born April 7, 1964) is a British author and television personality who loves food and travel. He has appeared on many Food Network shows and is known for judging cooking competitions like Iron Chef. Simon lives in both Los Angeles, USA, and London, England.
Early Life and Big Changes
Simon Majumdar grew up in Rotherham, a town in South Yorkshire, England. He was the middle child of four. His father, Pratip "Pat" Majumdar, was born in Calcutta, India. He was a special doctor for bones and joints, even working with the Rotherham United F.C. football team. Simon's mother, Gwen John, was from South Wales and worked as a nurse. His parents met at the Royal Gwent Hospital in the 1950s.
Before becoming famous for food, Simon worked as a book publisher. After his mother became sick and passed away, he felt sad and wasn't happy with his job. So, in 2007, he decided to make a big change. He set out to "go everywhere, eat everything," which completely changed his life's direction.
In 2010, while traveling in Brazil, Simon met his wife, Sybil Villanueva. Sybil is a Filipino American. Simon became a citizen of the United States on September 17, 2014.

From 2006 to 2012, Simon and his older brother Robin wrote a popular food blog in the UK called "Dos Hermanos." Thousands of people read it every day!
Simon is also a talented author and writer for many publications. He has written for well-known newspapers and websites like The Guardian, The Independent, AskMen.com, and The Daily Beast. He has also written several books, including Fed, White, and Blue, Eat My Globe, and Eating For Britain.
