Skateboarding was a super exciting event at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris! It took place from July 28 to August 7, 2024, at a famous spot called Place de la Concorde. This was only the second time skateboarding was in the Olympics, after it first appeared in Tokyo 2020.
The sport is growing fast, and more young skateboarders are showing off their amazing skills. In Paris, 88 skateboarders competed, which is more than the 80 who competed in Tokyo. They battled for medals in four different events: Street and Park, for both men and women.

How Skateboarders Qualified for the Olympics
To compete in the Paris 2024 Olympics, skateboarders had to qualify. There were 88 spots available in total.
- Each country, called a National Olympic Committee (NOC), could send up to six skateboarders. This meant three men and three women for each of the two styles: Street and Park.
- The host country, France, automatically got four spots, one for each event.
- A few other spots were saved for countries that don't usually send many athletes to the Olympics.
- Most skateboarders earned their spots by getting points in special competitions. These points were added up on the Olympic World Skateboarding ranking list. The top 20 skateboarders in each event (men's and women's Street, men's and women's Park) got to go to Paris!
Skateboarding Competition Schedule
The skateboarding events were spread out over several days. Skaters competed in two main types of sessions:
- A = Afternoon session. This started at 10:00 AM for the Street events and 12:30 PM for the Park events.
- E = Evening session. This started at 5:00 PM for Street and 5:30 PM for Park.
