Antoine Roundtree (born March 5, 1973), known as Skee-Lo, is an American rapper. He is famous for his 1995 song "I Wish". This song was a big hit around the world and reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
His song "I Wish" was special because it didn't have any bad words. This was at a time when many popular rap songs did. Soon after, he released his first album, also called I Wish. This album and song were nominated for two Grammy Awards. After that, he took a break from music. He later returned with new albums in 2000 and 2012. In 2024, he released a new song after another break.

Early life and education
Antoine Roundtree was born in Chicago, Illinois. His family later moved to Poughkeepsie, New York. When he was nine, they moved again to Riverside, California. He started rapping in 1983, when he was very young.
He finished high school at Canyon Springs High School. This school is in Moreno Valley. In 1993, he moved back to Los Angeles. He also went to El Camino College. Around this time, he became a Muslim and joined the Nation of Islam.
Music Career Highlights
Skee-Lo first performed in the early 1990s at a place called Good Life Cafe. His first album, I Wish, came out in 1995. He had started working on it in 1993. The album was very successful. One of its songs, "Top of the Stairs", was even in the 1995 movie Money Train.
Skee-Lo stopped rapping for a while after his first album. This was because of a problem with his record company, Sunshine Records. He said the company took all the money from his album's success. He refused to make more videos or music for them. He later won a court case against the label.
In 1996, Skee-Lo recorded a new version of the Schoolhouse Rock! song "The Tale of Mr. Morton". This song helped teach about sentence structure. It was included on the 1996 album Schoolhouse Rock! Rocks.
Skee-Lo also worked as a VJ (video jockey) for MTV in 1996. He hosted shows like The Beach House and The Grind.
He helped write the song "I'll Be Your Everything" for the boy band Youngstown. This song was part of the 1999 Inspector Gadget movie soundtrack.
Skee-Lo returned to music in 2000 with a new song called "I Can't Stop". This song was also the title track for his second album, released in 2001.

He wrote "Burnin' Up" in 2011 for the soundtrack of the 2013 horror movie Killer Holiday. MTV made a music video for the song. It was released through his own music company, Skeelo Musik.
In 2012, Skee-Lo was featured on a song called "Now You See My Life". This was with rapper Deuce from the band Hollywood Undead. The song was on Deuce's album Nine Lives.
His third album, Fresh Ideas, was released on November 13, 2012, through his own label, Skeelo Musik. It became available in stores in July 2013.
After an 11-year break, Skee-Lo released a new song called "Slow Down" in 2024. He released it independently.

Skee-Lo lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Stacy Ambrose. They have five children.
