Water Supply for Homes

Getting water to homes in Skye has been a bit tricky. This is mainly because some streets are very steep! In the past, many homes didn't have government water. They used water from bores, which are like deep wells. Some bores were private, and some were shared by groups of people.

However, things have changed! SA Water, the main water supplier, is now in charge. By early 2016, all homes in Skye were expected to be connected to their water system.

Getting Around Skye by Road

Skye is connected to other areas by Old Norton Summit Road. This road links the suburb to Magill Road and the Adelaide city centre.

The highest parts of Skye are reached by Coach Road. Many people live in these higher areas. Parts of Coach Road are quite steep, so it's an exciting drive! Coach Road is also an extension of Norwood Parade.
