Skye is a lovely suburb located in the eastern part of Adelaide, South Australia. It's part of the City of Burnside area.

Exploring Skye's Location
Skye is nestled in the foothills of the Adelaide Hills. This area is known as the Hills Face Zone. It is the suburb furthest to the east in the Burnside council area.
Many streets in Skye offer amazing views. You can look out west over the wide Adelaide plains. It's a great spot to see the city spread out below!
Who Lives in Skye?
The Australian Bureau of Statistics counted the people living in Skye in 2021. On that night, there were 341 people in the suburb. About 44.4% of them were male and 55.6% were female.

Amazing Views
One of the best things about Skye is its incredible views. From many parts of the suburb, you can see all the way across Adelaide. On a clear day, you might even spot the Spencer Gulf in the distance!
Local Parks
Skye has a nice reserve for everyone to enjoy. It is located between Wyfield Street and Knox Terrace. It's a great place to relax or play outdoors.
Water Supply for Homes
Getting water to homes in Skye has been a bit tricky. This is mainly because some streets are very steep! In the past, many homes didn't have government water. They used water from bores, which are like deep wells. Some bores were private, and some were shared by groups of people.
However, things have changed! SA Water, the main water supplier, is now in charge. By early 2016, all homes in Skye were expected to be connected to their water system.
Getting Around Skye by Road
Skye is connected to other areas by Old Norton Summit Road. This road links the suburb to Magill Road and the Adelaide city centre.
The highest parts of Skye are reached by Coach Road. Many people live in these higher areas. Parts of Coach Road are quite steep, so it's an exciting drive! Coach Road is also an extension of Norwood Parade.
