Smygehamn is a small town in Sweden. It's special because it's the most southern place in the whole country! It's located in Trelleborg Municipality, which is part of Skåne County. In 2020, about 1,287 people lived there.

Just about 1 kilometer (or half a mile) to the southwest of Smygehamn, you'll find Smygehuk. This spot is actually the absolute southernmost point of Sweden!

A Look Back in Time

Smygehamn has some interesting history. For many years, it was home to Sweden's southernmost railway station. This station was open from 1887 until 1957. It was called Östratorp, named after the local parish (which is like a small district).
