Snow Lake Peak is a very tall mountain located in the Ruby Mountains of Nevada, United States. It is one of the highest peaks in this mountain range. It also ranks among the tallest mountains in Elko County. This impressive peak stands above Snow Lake and is a major feature of Lamoille Canyon. Snow Lake Peak is found within the Ruby Mountains Wilderness, which is part of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest.
Exploring Snow Lake Peak
Snow Lake Peak is a high mountain that was shaped by glaciers long ago. It is located about 25 miles (40 kilometers) southeast of the city of Elko.
A Unique Mountain Challenge
Unlike many other peaks in the Ruby Mountains, Snow Lake Peak is quite difficult to climb. Most mountains can be reached by simply scrambling (a mix of hiking and easy climbing). However, Snow Lake Peak requires more advanced climbing skills. It is known for its challenging routes and steep sections.
