Snowshoe Lake is a beautiful lake located in Ontario, Canada. It's found in the Parry Sound District, near the town of Whitestone. This lake is part of the huge Lake Huron drainage basin, which means all its water eventually flows into Lake Huron.

Snowshoe Lake is about 2.1 kilometers (1.3 miles) long and 1.1 kilometers (0.7 miles) wide. It sits at an elevation of 285 meters (935 feet) above sea level.

Where Snowshoe Lake's Water Goes

The water from Snowshoe Lake flows out through a small, unnamed creek. This creek then joins the Kimikong River. From there, the water travels through the Pickerel River and then into the famous French River. Finally, all this water makes its way into Lake Huron, one of the Great Lakes!

Other Snowshoe Lakes in Ontario

It's interesting to know that there's another lake called Snowshoe Lake in the same area of Whitestone. This second Snowshoe Lake is located about 30 kilometers (19 miles) southwest of the one we're talking about. Its water flows into Lake Huron too, but it takes a different path. It drains either through the Magnetawan River or the Harris and Naiscoot Rivers. It's common for lakes to share names, especially in areas with many natural features!
