Sofia Essaïdi, born on August 6, 1984, is a talented singer and actress from both France and Morocco. She was born in Casablanca, Morocco. Her father, Lhabib Essaïdi, is Moroccan, and her mother, Martine Adeline Gardelle, is French.

Sofia's Journey to Stardom
Sofia Essaïdi became known after joining the third season of Star Academy France. This was a popular TV show where young singers competed. She was on the show from August to December 2003. Sofia did very well and made it to the semi-finals. She ended up finishing in second place, right after Elodie Frégé.
After the show, Sofia joined the Star Academy tour. This tour took her to different places, including Morocco and Papeete, Tahiti. She even celebrated her 20th birthday while on tour in Tahiti in 2004.
Her First Album and Musical
Sofia released her first music album, called Mon cabaret, in 2005. Later, she starred in a big musical show called Cléopâtre, la dernière reine d'Égypte [fr]. This musical was about Cleopatra, the famous queen of Egypt. It was choreographed by Kamel Ouali, a well-known dancer and choreographer. The show first opened in Paris at "le Palais des Sports" on January 29, 2009.
