Somerville's History
Somerville became an official village in 1832. This means it had its own local government.
However, on March 15, 2016, the people of Somerville voted. They decided to end the village's official status. This process is called dissolving. The village then became part of Milford Township. This happened because many members of the village council had to leave their positions.
