Songül Öden is a famous Turkish actress. She was born in Diyarbakır, Turkey, on February 17, 1979. She is known for her great acting in TV shows like Gümüş, Umutsuz Ev Kadınları, "Şeref Bey", and Uysallar.

Life and Career
Songül Öden spent her school and university years in Ankara. While in high school, she joined the Ankara Arts Theatre. She also took vocal training at Hacettepe University. Later, she graduated from Ankara University's theatre school.
She was part of a project that turned poems by Atilla İlhan into a play called Ne Kadınlar Sevdim. After some time, she moved to Istanbul. There, she began working in television and theatre.
Early TV Roles
Songül started acting on TV in 1999 with the series Ferhunde Hanımlar. After that, she appeared in several other TV shows. These included Vasiyet (2001) and Havada Bulut (2002).
In 2005, she got a big role in the TV drama Gümüş. She starred alongside Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ. This series ran for two and a half years. It became very popular in Turkey, the Middle East, and the Balkans.
Songül Öden received an honorary award at the Muscat Film Festival. She was also a special guest at the Cairo Film Festival.
Movies and Later TV Shows
In 2009, Songül acted in her first movie, Acı Aşk (Bitter Love). She starred with Halit Ergenç, Cansu Dere, and Ezgi Asaroğlu. In 2011, she appeared in 72. Koğuş, a film based on a story by Orhan Kemal.
She returned to television in 2011 with Umutsuz Ev Kadınları. This show was an adaptation of the American series Desperate Housewives. She also played a main role in "Bir Aile Hikayesi", which was based on "This is Us". Songül also worked with Haluk Bilginer in the series "Şeref Bey" and "Uysallar".
Special Projects
Songül Öden has also been involved in important projects. She was part of a Middle East project that spoke out against harm to women and children in Palestine. In 2009, she was named a Culture and Peace Envoy in Bulgaria. This means she helps promote peace through culture.
