Songieu (pronounced "son-zhoo") was once a small village or commune in eastern France. It was located in the Ain department.
On January 1, 2016, Songieu joined with other nearby villages to form a new, larger commune called Haut Valromey. This means Songieu is now part of a bigger local government area.
