Sooty & Co. is a fun British children's TV show. It was created and presented by Matthew Corbett. The show aired on ITV from September 6, 1993, to December 14, 1998.

This series was a follow-up to The Sooty Show, which ended in 1992. Sooty & Co. kept the same funny story style. It focused on the adventures of Sooty, Sweep, Soo, Little Cousin Scampi, and Matthew. They tried to run a shop in Manchester that sold all sorts of old and new items.

Most episodes were filmed in Manchester. However, some adventures took the group to places like Scotland, Ireland, and Spain. Sooty & Co. was the last big children's show for Matthew Corbett. He retired in 1998 and sold the rights to Sooty to Richard Cadell. Richard later became the new presenter. After Sooty & Co. finished, a new show called Sooty Heights started in 1999.

What the Show Was About

After The Sooty Show ended, Matthew Corbett sold his old cottage. He then bought a shop in Manchester for himself and the puppets. Sooty, Sweep, Soo, and Little Cousin Scampi helped him run it. They bought and sold all kinds of things, but they often had funny problems.

Just like the earlier show, each episode of Sooty & Co. was full of silly situations. Matthew, Sooty, and the others tried to make money with their shop. They also dealt with different issues they had to solve. The show included songs and sometimes taught viewers new things. In some episodes, the characters even traveled outside Manchester. For example, one time they went on holiday to Spain.

Brenda Longman, who voiced Soo, also played a character on screen. She played Mo, a market seller. Matthew often had trouble selling things to Mo. Instead, he usually ended up buying things from her!

Sooty & Co. also introduced a special campervan. Sooty and his friends used it to travel around. Many famous guest stars appeared on the show. These included Jack Dee, Paul Zerdin, and Harry Hill. In the final season, Richard Cadell and Liana Bridges joined the cast. They played junior shop staff. This helped young viewers get used to them before Matthew retired.
