Soperton's History

Soperton got its start as a community in 1902. That's when a post office was first opened there. The city was named after a railroad official named Benjamin Franklin Soper.

Later in 1902, the Georgia General Assembly officially made Soperton a town. This means it became a recognized place with its own local government.
