Sophia Nelson's Early Life and Career
Sophia Nelson was born in Munich, Germany. She grew up in Somerdale, New Jersey. She finished high school at Sterling High School in 1985.
She went to San Diego State University. There, she earned degrees in economics and political science. In 1988, she became interested in politics. She joined the Republican Party after hearing Jack Kemp speak.
Sophia Nelson worked as a lawyer for New Jersey Governor Christine Todd Whitman. In 1996, she tried to become a member of Congress for New Jersey. She also worked as a lawyer for a government committee in the U.S. House of Representatives. Later, she decided to become a journalist and author. Since 2020, she has been an independent. This means she does not belong to a specific political party.
