Sophia Anna Bush (born July 8, 1982) is an American actress. She is also known for her work as an activist and producer.
She became famous for playing Brooke Davis in the TV show One Tree Hill (2003–2012). Later, she starred as Erin Lindsay in the police drama Chicago P.D. (2014–2017). Sophia also produced and starred as Dr. Samantha "Sam" Griffith in the medical drama Good Sam (2022).
Sophia Bush has appeared in many movies, including John Tucker Must Die (2006), The Hitcher (2007), and Incredibles 2 (2018), where she voiced the character Voyd. She is also well-known for helping with charity work and social causes, like the Time's Up movement. Currently, Bush co-hosts the Drama Queens podcast with her former One Tree Hill co-stars, Bethany Joy Lenz and Robert Buckley.

Early Life and Education
Sophia Bush was born in Pasadena, California. She is the only child of Maureen Searson and Charles William Bush. Her mother runs a photography studio, and her father is a photographer for advertising and beauty.
In 2000, Sophia graduated from Westridge School for Girls. There, she was part of the volleyball team. Her school also required her to join the theater arts program. Sophia said that at first, she was annoyed because she wanted to play volleyball. But after performing in a play, she realized how much she loved acting. In 2002, she was cast in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, but she was replaced because the director felt she was too young for the role. He still praised her acting talent.
In 2003, Bush got the role of Brooke Davis in the TV series One Tree Hill. As she became more famous, she became a spokesperson for big brands. Sophia Bush became engaged to her One Tree Hill co-star Chad Michael Murray in 2004. They married in April 2005. After five months, they announced their separation. They were divorced in December 2006.
From 2006 to 2007, Sophia dated her Stay Alive co-star Jon Foster. They remained friends after they broke up. From 2008 to 2009, she dated her One Tree Hill co-star James Lafferty. She also dated actor Austin Nichols, who joined One Tree Hill to be with her. They ended their relationship in 2012.
From 2013 to 2014, Sophia dated Dan Fredinburg, who worked for Google. They remained friends after their separation. From 2014 to 2016, Bush dated her Chicago P.D. co-star, actor Jesse Lee Soffer.
In 2020, she started dating businessman Grant Hughes. They announced their engagement in August 2021 and married on June 11, 2022. Sophia filed for divorce in August 2023. In April 2024, Bush confirmed her relationship with former professional soccer player Ashlyn Harris.
Activism and Causes

Sophia Bush is very active in helping with fundraisers and political issues. She supported Barack Obama's campaign for president in 2008, speaking at college campuses to encourage young people to get involved.
She strongly supports equal rights for all people. In 2009, she appeared in a video that made fun of groups against same-sex marriage. She also attended a rally to protest against laws that limited marriage rights. Sophia believes that everyone, no matter their background, deserves the same rights. In June 2016, she was part of a video tribute to the victims of the Orlando nightclub shooting, sharing their stories.
