South Branch Township is a small community located in Wexford County, in the state of Michigan, United States. It is a type of local government area called a civil township. In 2020, about 348 people lived here.

Communities in South Branch Township
South Branch Township is home to a few smaller communities. These are places where people live, but they don't have their own separate local governments.
- Caberfae is a community mostly known for the Caberfae Peaks Ski & Golf Resort. This resort is a popular place for skiing in the winter and playing golf in the summer. Most of Caberfae, including the resort, is located within South Branch Township.
- Garletts Corner is a community you can find where two main roads, M-37 and M-55, meet.
- Hoxeyville is a community in the eastern part of the township. It started a long time ago as a place where people worked with wood, called a lumbering settlement. It even had a post office that opened in 1870!
- Thorp was once a small settlement within the township. It had a rural post office for a short time, starting in 1883.

South Branch Township covers an area of about 36.05 square miles (93.37 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with only a very small part being water.
The famous Caberfae Peaks Ski & Golf Resort is located right here in South Branch Township. This area is known for its beautiful natural surroundings.
Main Roads in the Township
Two important state highways run through South Branch Township, helping people travel around:
M-37 This road goes from south to north through the western part of the township.
M-55 This road goes from east to west through the middle of the township. It crosses paths with M-37.
