South West Delhi is one of the eleven main areas, called districts, in the National Capital Territory of Delhi in India. It's like a big neighborhood within Delhi. The town of Dwarka is the main office center for this district.

South West Delhi shares its borders with several other places. To the north, it's next to West Delhi. To the northeast, you'll find Central Delhi. On the east side are New Delhi and South Delhi. To the south, it borders the Gurgaon District in the state of Haryana. And to the west, it's next to the Jhajjar District, also in Haryana.

This district is quite large, covering an area of 420 square kilometers. In 2011, about 2,292,363 people lived here. This means there are about 5,445 people living in every square kilometer, making it a very busy place! It's the fourth most populated district in all of Delhi.

For easier management, South West Delhi is divided into three smaller parts, called subdivisions. These are Dwarka, Najafgarh, and Kapas Hera.

People and Population

In 2011, a census (a count of all the people) showed that South West Delhi had a population of 2,292,363. This number is similar to the population of a country like Latvia or the US state of New Mexico. Out of 640 districts in India, South West Delhi ranks as the 198th most populated.

The district is quite crowded, with about 5,445 people living in each square kilometer. Between 2001 and 2011, the population grew by about 30.62%. For every 1000 males, there were about 836 females. Also, a high number of people, about 88.81%, could read and write, showing a good literacy rate.
