Meet the Animals!
At Space Farms, you can see over 500 different animals. The zoo works to care for these animals, including some that are rare. It's a chance to see creatures from all over the world up close.
Some of the animals you might see at the zoo include:
- African lions
- Black leopards
- South American jaguars
- Cougars
- Lynx
- Bobcats
- Bengal tigers
- Grizzly bears
- Hokkaido bears
- Kodiak bears
- Black bears
For many years, Space Farms was famous for a very large bear named Goliath. He was a huge Kodiak bear. After Goliath passed away in 1991, his large skull was put on display in the museum. This helps visitors understand just how big these amazing bears can be.
Step Back in Time: The Museum
The museum at Space Farms is like a time capsule! It has many old and interesting items from early American history. You can see how people used to travel and what tools they used.
Some of the cool things on display include:
- Old cars that show how vehicles have changed over time.
- Horse-drawn carriages, which were a main way to travel before cars.
- Early motorcycles, showing the beginnings of these speedy machines.
- Tools and weapons from the colonial period. These items give you a peek into daily life long ago.
Most of these vehicles and items are shown just as they were found. This means they haven't been fixed up or changed, giving you a real look at history.
