Spring Creek is a 76.5-mile-long (123.1 km) river in southwest Georgia, United States. It's like a smaller stream that flows into a bigger river. Spring Creek is a "tributary" of the Flint River. This means it feeds its water into the Flint River.

About Spring Creek

Spring Creek is an important part of the natural water system in Georgia. It helps carry water across the land. Rivers like Spring Creek are home to many plants and animals. They also provide water for people and farms.

Where Spring Creek Starts

Spring Creek begins in the northeastern part of Clay County. This is about 5 miles (8 km) north of a town called Bluffton. Imagine a small stream forming from rainfall or underground springs. That's how Spring Creek gets its start!

Spring Creek's Journey

From its beginning, Spring Creek flows south. It travels through the landscape until it reaches Lake Seminole. Lake Seminole is a large lake formed by the joining of several rivers. Spring Creek joins the Flint River inside this lake.

The place where Spring Creek meets the Flint River is about 6 miles (10 km) upstream from where the Flint River meets another big river, the Chattahoochee River. When the Flint River and the Chattahoochee River come together, they form an even larger river called the Apalachicola River. This Apalachicola River then flows all the way through Florida and eventually empties into the Gulf of Mexico. So, the water from Spring Creek makes a long journey from Georgia to the ocean!
