Springdale is a small town located in Dane County, Wisconsin, in the United States. As of the 2020 census, about 2,056 people lived there.
Several smaller communities are also part of the town. These include Klevenville, Mount Vernon, and Riley.
Geography of Springdale
Springdale covers an area of about 35.3 square miles (91.4 square kilometers). All of this area is land, meaning there are no large lakes or rivers within the town's borders.
History of Springdale
The land that is now Springdale was first mapped out in 1832 and 1833. People started settling here around 1845. It was easy to get to the area because of the Military Road.
The Town of Springdale was officially created in 1848. By the mid-1850s, many people had moved to the town. These early settlers came from different places. Some were Americans from the Northeast and Midwest. Others were immigrants from countries like England, Scotland, Ireland, Germany, and Norway.
People of Springdale
In 2000, there were 1,530 people living in Springdale. The town had 570 households and 441 families. On average, there were about 43 people per square mile.
Many households (35.6%) had children under 18 living with them. Most households (70.2%) were married couples. The average household had 2.68 people.
The age of people in Springdale varied. About 27.1% were under 18 years old. Around 30.7% were between 25 and 44. The median age was 40 years old. This means half the people were younger than 40 and half were older.

The Dane County Sheriff's Department helps keep the town safe. Fire and emergency medical services are provided by the Mount Horeb Area Joint Fire Department and Emergency Medical Service.
