Springfield is a city located in Bay County, Florida, United States. It is found just east of Panama City. Springfield is part of the larger Panama City Metropolitan Statistical Area. The city officially became a city on February 12, 1935. In 2020, about 8,075 people lived there. This was a decrease from 8,903 people in 2010.

Education in Springfield
Springfield has been home to several schools over the years. These include Rutherford High School, Everitt Middle School, and Springfield Elementary School. The Shaw Adult Learning Center was also located here.
After Hurricane Michael, Springfield Elementary School had to close down. Its building is now used as The Bay District School's Safety & Security Operations Center. Everitt Middle School's old building is being taken down. Its students now share a building with Rutherford High School because of damage from the hurricane. The Shaw Adult Learning Center closed in 2004. All these schools are part of the Bay District Schools district.
