History of Spurgeon's College

How the College Started

The college was started in 1856 by a pastor named Charles Spurgeon. He called it "Pastors' College." His main idea was to teach people how to become good pastors and help others. He wanted the training to be very practical and focused on spreading the Christian message.

Growing and Changing Names

By 1892, the college had already trained 863 students! This shows how important it was. In 1923, the college moved to its current building. At that time, it was renamed Spurgeon's College to honor its founder, Charles Spurgeon.
