History of the Community

The Catholic community in Anguilla started a long time ago. They first organized in 1948. At that time, they built a small chapel. However, a big hurricane hit in 1961. This storm sadly destroyed the chapel. After the hurricane, Catholics met at Wallblake House. They continued to gather there for several years. The current St. Gerard Church was finished in 1966. It has been a place of worship ever since.
