St Mary's Church, Clapham, also known as Our Immaculate Lady of Victories, is a special Roman Catholic church in Clapham, South London, England. It is located on Clapham Park Road, right near Clapham Common and Clapham Common tube station.

This church is managed by a group of priests called the Redemptorist Congregation. It is part of the larger Archdiocese of Southwark, which is a big area looked after by the Catholic Church.

St Mary's Church is considered a very important historical building. It has a "Grade II*-listed" status, which means it's a particularly significant building in England that needs to be protected.

A former priest at St Mary's, Ralph Heskett, later became the Bishop of Hallam. He served the church from 1999 to 2008. The current parish priest of St Mary's is Fr Caspar Mukabva CSsR.

The Church Building's Story

The idea for the current St Mary's Church came from Bishop Nicholas Wiseman, who later became a Cardinal. The first stone for the church was laid in 1849.

The church was designed by an architect named William Wardell. He used a style called Gothic Revival, which looks like the grand churches from the Middle Ages. The inside decorations were done by John Francis Bentley.

The building was finished in 1851. Cardinal Wiseman officially blessed the church on May 14, 1851. Because of its historical importance, the church was added to the National Heritage List for England on February 8, 1979.

The church is connected to the Redemptorist monastery next door. The monastery building is also very old and important, and it has the same "Grade II*-listed" status as the church.
