St Pancras East was a special area in North London, specifically in the St Pancras district. This area was set up to choose one person, called a Member of Parliament (MP), to represent its people in the House of Commons. The House of Commons is a big part of the UK Parliament, where laws are made.

A "constituency" is like a voting district. People living in St Pancras East would vote for their chosen MP. This MP would then speak up for their area in Parliament.

This constituency was created in 1885. It was part of a new law called the Redistribution of Seats Act 1885. This law changed how voting areas were set up across the UK. St Pancras East existed for about 33 years. It was removed in 1918, when new changes were made to voting districts.
