Star Fox Command is an exciting video game made for the Nintendo DS handheld console. It's the fifth game in the popular Star Fox series. The game was created by Q-Games and published by Nintendo.
It first came out in Europe on July 19, 2006. Then it was released in Japan on August 3, 2006, in North America on August 28, 2006, and in Australia on September 21, 2006. This game was special because it was the very first Star Fox game you could play on a handheld system. It was also the first Star Fox game to let players battle each other online using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
How to Play
Star Fox Command has two main ways to play: a map mode and a battle mode. You'll switch between these two modes as you play.
Map Mode
In map mode, you get to control several of your own spaceships. You can guide up to four ships at once! Your main goal here is to stop enemy ships from reaching your main base, the Great Fox. When one of your ships meets an enemy or a missile, the game quickly switches to battle mode.
Battle Mode
Battle mode feels a lot like the older Star Fox games. You can fly freely around the level, just like in some parts of Star Fox 64. To win a battle, you might need to destroy an enemy base, defeat all the enemies, or collect a certain number of special items called cores. Once you complete your mission, you go back to the map screen.
As you play more, you'll find that you can choose different paths through the game. Each path lets you visit different planets and face new challenges!
Multiplayer Fun
You can play Star Fox Command with your friends in multiplayer mode. Up to six players can join in using DS Download Play. If you play online with the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, up to three players can battle each other.
The goal in multiplayer is to destroy other players' ships and collect the stars they leave behind. You can even pick up stars from opponents that someone else defeated. When you play online, you get a rank from Z (lowest) to A (highest). Every time you win a match, you earn a percentage. When you reach 100%, you move up to the next rank!
