Static & Ben El Tavori (Hebrew: סטטיק ובן אל תבורי) is a popular Israeli music duo. It includes singers Liraz Russo, known as Static, and Ben El Tavori. Their music is produced by Yarden Peleg, also known as Jordi. Together, they create catchy pop songs that are loved by many.

Meet the Artists
Static: Liraz Russo
Liraz Russo (Hebrew: לירז רוסו), born on December 8, 1990, is famous as Static (סטטיק). He was adopted by an Israeli couple, Moshe and Nitza Russo, when he was four months old. He grew up in Haifa, Israel. Static started playing the piano at age three and later switched to guitar.
When he was 15, he performed in local festivals with a youth band from Haifa. He served in the Israeli Air Force. After his service, he began working with music producer Omri Segal. This helped him get into the music world. His stage name "Static" was a nickname given to him by a childhood friend.
Static became well-known in 2015. He released the song "Ba La Lirkod" with DJ Gal Malka. This song became very successful in Israel.
Ben El Tavori
Ben El Tavori (Hebrew: בן-אל תבורי), born on December 22, 1991, is the son of Israeli singer Shimi Tavori. His family has Mizrahi Jewish roots. When he was a child, his parents divorced.
At age 14, in 2005, he sang publicly for the first time with his father. In 2007, when he was 16, he tried out for the TV show Kokhav Nolad. He served in the Israeli Air Force. In March 2011, he released his first album. His big break came when he worked with Static and Jordi on the song "#DubiGal" by Ron Nesher.
Jordi: Yarden Peleg
Yarden Peleg (Hebrew: ירדן פלג), known as Jordi (ג'ורדי), was born on January 20, 1987, in Kiryat Motzkin, Israel. His parents are Tzvi and Malka Peleg. Jordi's father was a radio broadcaster. As a child, Jordi often visited his father at the radio station.
He started making music at age 12. At 17, he left high school and produced his first song. By age 18, he had built a recording studio at home. In 2013, he opened his own studio and became an independent producer. He met Static while working on a song for another band.
Their Musical Journey Together
Static, Ben El Tavori, and Jordi first worked together on rapper Ron Nesher's song "#DubiGal" in 2015. After that, Static and Ben El started recording songs as a duo, with Jordi producing their music. All their songs come with music videos that have been watched millions of times on YouTube.
Their first song as a duo, "Barbie," came out in November 2015. It was a big hit. Three months later, they released "Kvish Hachof." This song is about their many trips on Israel's coastal road. Static is from Haifa and Ben El is from Tel Aviv.
Their third song, "Silsulim," released in June 2016, won 'Song of the Year' in Israel. That same year, they won 'Breakthrough of the Year' and 'People of the Year' awards. In September 2016, they released "Stam." Their fifth song, "Zahav," came out in January 2017. It had a music video with a 1950s theme.
Since the fourth season, Static and Ben El have been judges on the reality show HaKokhav HaBa. In 2017, they won an award for their achievements in music. They also performed in the Festigal and appeared in ads for the fashion company Castro.
In June 2017, they released "Tudo Bom." This song has a Brazilian theme and includes some words in Portuguese. It became super popular in Israel and even got attention in Brazil. The duo was invited to meet the Brazilian Ambassador to Israel. "Tudo Bom" broke the record for the most views of an Israeli song on YouTube in one day. By December 2017, it had over 44 million views, which was the highest for any Israeli song.
Their song "Hakol Letova," released in October 2017, broke another record. It was played on Israeli radio 80 times in one day. This beat their own previous record of 66 plays with "Tudo Bom." In January 2018, they released "Namaste" with singer Liora Yitzhak.
In March 2018, they signed a big deal with Capitol Records. This deal was to create seven international albums in English. They worked with songwriter Emily Wright. Even with this international focus, Israel remained their main place for music. In May 2018, they released "Kawaii," a song with a Japanese theme.
In August, they released "Gumigam." Their first English song, "Broke Ass Millionaire," was released in November 2018. It used the tune of their earlier hit "Silsulim." An English version of "Tudo Bom" was also released, featuring J Balvin. On January 15, 2019, they released "Yasu," a Greek-themed song with Eden Ben Zaken and Stephane Legar. This was followed by "Bananot" in June, which had an African theme, and "Imale" in October.
In January 2020, they released "Further Up (Na, Na, Na, Na, Na)" with Pitbull. The next month, they released "We," a French-themed song with Miri Mesika. In June 2020, they released "Habib Alby" with Nasrin Kadri for Tel Aviv Pride Week. This song has lyrics in Hebrew, English, and some Arabic phrases. "Habib Alby" means "Love of my Heart" in Arabic.
They then worked with Flipp Dinero on the English song "Milli." They also released "Kapit Ahad Shel Tov" ("One Teaspoon of Good"). Soon after, they teamed up with Anna Zak for "Kubiyot," which had a beach-themed music video. They also collaborated with will.i.am on the English single "Shake Ya Boom Boom."
Static and Jordi also wrote and composed "Katan Aleinu." This was a charity song featuring 40 Israeli artists. It was made to support hospitals during the COVID-19 pandemic. In March 2021, they released the song "Cactus."
In June 2021, Static and Ben El released their first album, "Sheva Yerachim" ("Seven Moons"). The album has seven songs, and six of them feature other Israeli artists. They also released the single "Superstar" with several other artists.
