Stephan Beckenbauer was born in Munich, Germany. He started playing football with his local club, FC Bayern. However, he mostly played for their reserve team and did not join the main squad.
Playing in Lower Leagues
Stephan spent most of his 11-year career playing in lower football leagues. He played for teams like TSV 1860 München, Kickers Offenbach, and FC Grenchen.
In 1992, he joined 1. FC Saarbrücken. With this team, he played 12 games in the top German league, the Bundesliga. He also played 12 games in the second-highest league, the 2. Bundesliga.
His first game in the Bundesliga was on August 14, 1992. He came into the game as a substitute in the 79th minute. That season, his team finished 18th and was moved down to a lower league.
