About Stephen Hogan
Stephen Hogan was born in August 1965 in Dublin, Ireland. His father, Brian Hogan, was a well-known architect in Dublin. Stephen first studied architecture at Edinburgh University. However, he soon realized he wanted to be an actor.
He then received a scholarship to study at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow. While studying drama, he also worked part-time in an architect's office.
After finishing drama school in 1992, Stephen got a role in the Scottish TV show Take the High Road. He played a character named Nick Stapleton. After this, he moved to London but often returns to Ireland for work and visits.
Stephen's uncle, Paul Hogan, was involved in a famous event in 1956. A painting called Summer's Day was taken from the Tate Gallery. Stephen later played his uncle in a radio play about this event in 2005. He is also helping to create a film based on the story.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Stephen set up a recording studio at home. This allowed him to record audiobooks like City in Flames. He even voiced the character Kurtz from the novel Heart of Darkness for a BBC4 show from his home.
You might also see Stephen Hogan in the Netflix series Vikings: Valhalla. He plays the character of Ealdorman Sigeferth of Wessex.
