What's in a Name?
How Sterling Hill Got Its Name
Sterling Hill got its name from a person named Lord Stirling. He was an important person who owned the land way back in the 1700s.
Lord Stirling wasn't just an owner; he also ran a special kind of mine on the mountain. This mine dug up a metal called zinc. That's how the mountain got its unique name, honoring him and his work there.
