The pottery made here was part of the "East Alabama style." This style used high-quality clay. It also featured a special two-toned glaze for decoration. Sterrett was also home to the Twin Pines Conference Center. Robert "Bob" Saunders started this center. A special bridge, called the Bob Saunders Family Covered Bridge, is on the property. It is listed in the World Guide to Covered Bridges. A covered bridge is a bridge with walls and a roof, often made of wood.
