Steven Royce Parker, born on September 21, 1959, is a former American football player. He played as a defensive end, which is a key position in football. Parker played for the Baltimore/Indianapolis Colts in the National Football League (NFL). He also played college football at Triton College and Eastern Illinois University. Before joining the NFL, he played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the Canadian Football League (CFL).

Steve Parker's Early Life
Steven Royce Parker was born in Evanston, Illinois, on September 21, 1959. He grew up in Evanston and went to Evanston Township High School there.
College Football Career
Parker started his college football journey at Triton College in 1977. Later, he transferred to Eastern Illinois University. He played for the Eastern Illinois Panthers from 1978 to 1980. The 1978 Panthers team achieved a great success. They became NCAA Division II national champions that year.
Professional Football Career
After college, Steve Parker was not chosen in the 1981 NFL draft. However, he still got a chance to play professional football.
Playing in Canada
On September 27, 1981, Parker signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. This team plays in the Canadian Football League (CFL). During the 1981 CFL season, he played in four games. He recorded 0.5 sacks, which means he helped tackle the opposing quarterback behind the line of scrimmage. In 1982, he played in two more games and made one sack. He was released by the Tiger-Cats on July 18, 1982.
Time with the Colts
Parker then signed with the Baltimore Colts on May 25, 1983. He had a busy season in 1983, playing in all 16 games. He started 15 of those games. During that season, he made 1.5 sacks and recovered three fumbles. A fumble recovery is when a player picks up a ball that the other team has dropped.
In 1984, the team moved and became the Indianapolis Colts. Parker played in nine games for the Indianapolis Colts that year. He started one game and made one sack. On November 28, 1984, he was placed on injured reserve. This means he could not play due to an injury. Parker was released by the Colts on August 12, 1985.
