Still Pond Historic District
The Still Pond Historic District is a rural community with about 75 buildings. These buildings were mostly built between the early 1800s and the 1930s. It's located in the northern part of Kent County, where Still Pond Road (MD 292) and Old Still Pond Road (MD 566) cross.
What the District Looks Like
The main part of Still Pond is where several roads meet. There are also residential streets like Maple Avenue and Trustee Street nearby. Farms surround the district, and there isn't much new construction. Most buildings are single-family homes.
You'll also find old shops, a warehouse, and a former post office. The community has two churches with cemeteries, another cemetery, an old Odd Fellows Hall, and a former schoolhouse. Many homes are examples of late 19th and early 20th-century architecture. You can see styles like Victorian, Colonial Revival, and Craftsman. Some properties also have old sheds or garages.
Why the District is Important

Still Pond students used to go to Worton Elementary School. However, the school board decided to close Worton Elementary in 2017.
