Playing in the NFL

Detroit Lions Career

The Detroit Lions picked Stockar McDougle as the 20th player in the 2000 NFL draft. This meant he was one of the first players chosen that year. He played his first NFL game on November 5, 2000. As a rookie, he started all eight games he played.

In 2001, he started 3 out of 9 games. In 2002, he started 11 out of 12 games. For the 2003 and 2004 seasons, Stockar played in all 16 games each year. He started every game as a right tackle. In 2003, the Lions' offensive line, with Stockar's help, allowed very few sacks (when the quarterback is tackled). In 2004, he helped rookie running back Kevin Jones run for over 1,100 yards.

Time with Miami and Jacksonville

On March 15, 2005, Stockar McDougle signed with the Miami Dolphins. He played in nine games for the Dolphins and started two of them.

Exactly one year later, on March 15, 2006, he signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He played in 11 games for the Jaguars in 2006. However, he did not start any games that season. In 2007, Stockar suffered a serious injury to his Achilles tendon. This injury meant he could not play for the entire 2007 season.
