Stone Cole Smartt was born on October 4, 1998. He is an American professional football player. Stone plays as a tight end for the New York Jets in the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the NFL, he played college football for the Old Dominion Monarchs.

Stone Smartt's Early Life
Stone Smartt grew up in Loomis, California. He went to Del Oro High School. During his time there, he was the team's quarterback. He threw for over 3,000 yards and scored 29 touchdowns.
In 2015-16, he helped his team win a Division II-AA State championship. They beat Camarillo with a score of 16-13. The next year, 2016-17, he led Del Oro to another state championship game. Stone was also a great point guard for the Del Oro boys basketball team. After high school, he decided to play college football at Northern Arizona University in 2017.
College Football Journey
Stone Smartt started his college career at Northern Arizona (NAU) in 2017. He played in only two games there. In 2018, he moved to Riverside City College. There, he played in 12 games and had a fantastic season.
He completed 177 passes for 2,754 yards and 31 touchdowns. He also ran for 583 yards and scored nine rushing touchdowns. Stone was recognized as a First-Team JUCO All-American. He also won the NJCAA Athletic Bureau Offensive Player of the Year award. He set new school records for passing yards and touchdowns.
In 2019, Stone transferred to Old Dominion University. In 2021, he changed his position from quarterback to wide receiver.

Professional Football Career
After college, Stone Smartt was not chosen in the 2022 NFL draft. However, he still got a chance to play professionally.
Los Angeles Chargers
Stone Smartt signed with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2022. He played for the Chargers for three years, from 2022 to 2024. During his time there, he was a backup tight end and played on special teams.
New York Jets
On March 17, 2025, Stone Smartt signed a contract with the New York Jets. He is currently playing for the Jets.
