The second day features a 15-kilometer (about 9.3 miles) freestyle race. This part of the competition takes place on the MECCA Trail System. These trails are located in southern Iron County, close to the town of Mercer. Freestyle skiing, also known as skate skiing, is faster and more like ice skating, allowing skiers to move across the snow in a V-shape.
