Straight's History with Railroads
In the late 1920s and early 1930s, the Beaver, Meade and Englewood Railroad built its tracks through this area. Straight was specifically planned and built right along these railroad tracks. Railroads were very important back then for moving goods and people across the country. They helped communities grow and connect with other places. However, this particular railroad line was no longer used after 1972.
