The History of Strang

Strang began to take shape in 1913. This was when the Missouri, Oklahoma and Gulf Railway company started planning their train tracks through the area. They were building towards a town called Wagoner.

In the same year, a post office was opened in Strang. It took the place of an older post office nearby called Lynch. The town officially became a recognized town in 1921. Strang was named after Clarita Strang Kenefic, whose husband, William Kenefic, helped develop the railroad.
