Struga is a lovely city located in the southwest part of North Macedonia. It sits right on the beautiful Lake Ohrid. A special feature of Struga is the Black Drin river. This river flows right through the town, dividing it into two distinct parts: a western side and an eastern side.
About 15,000 people call Struga home. The people living here come from different backgrounds. They include Albanians, (Slavic) Macedonians, Turks, and Romani people. This mix of cultures makes Struga a vibrant place.
Struga is quite famous for its tourism, especially during the summer months. Many visitors come to enjoy the warm weather and relax by the water. They love to swim and play at the shores of Lake Ohrid and along the Black Drin river. It's a perfect spot for a summer getaway!
Struga is also the main town of a larger area called the Struga Municipality. This municipality includes the city itself and many smaller villages nearby.
