Stuart Little is a fun American comedy movie from 1999. It was directed by Rob Minkoff and produced by Douglas Wick. The movie first came out on December 17, 1999. It is based on the famous book Stuart Little by E. B. White.
The movie tells the story of a small mouse named Stuart. He is adopted by the Little family, who are humans. Stuart tries to fit in with his new family. He also goes on exciting adventures.
Critics liked Stuart Little. It has a 66% "Fresh" rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie was even nominated for an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects. This award is for movies with amazing special effects. However, it lost to The Matrix.
Stuart Little was very popular. It led to a sequel, Stuart Little 2, in 2002. There was also a short TV show called Stuart Little: The Animated Series in 2003. Another sequel, Stuart Little 3: Call of the Wild, was released in 2006. This movie went straight to video.
The movie was the last one for actress Estelle Getty. She retired in 2000 and passed away in 2008.
