Suborna Mustafa (Bengali: সুবর্ণা মুস্তাফা; born 2 December 1959) is a famous Bangladeshi actress. She has worked in television, films, and on stage. She was also a member of the Bangladesh Parliament from 2019 to 2024. She belongs to the Bangladesh Awami League political party.
Mustafa is well-known for her roles in popular TV shows like Kothao Keu Nei (1990), Aaj Robibar (1999), and Ayomoy (1991). She has won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress twice. These awards were for her acting in the movies Notun Bou (1983) and Gohin Baluchor (2017). In 2019, the Government of Bangladesh honored her with the Ekushey Padak for her contributions to culture.

Early Life and Education
Suborna Mustafa was born on December 2, 1959. Her birthplace was Dopdopiya Union, in the Jhalokati District of Bangladesh. Her father, Golam Mustafa, was also a well-known actor in films and on television. Her mother, Husne Ara Mustafa, worked as a radio producer. Suborna has one sister named Camelia Mustafa. She spent most of her childhood at her grandparents' house in Dhaka. She attended Viqarunnisa Noon School for her studies.
Acting Career Highlights
Suborna Mustafa started her acting journey on television. Her first TV drama was Baraf Gala Nadi. This show was based on a novel by Zahir Raihan. She also acted in Rokte Angur Lata with Afzal Hossain. She was part of Shilpi, which was the first ever "package drama serial" on Bangladesh Television.
Television Roles
She played one of the main characters in the TV drama-serial Dolls House. This show aired on the ATN Bangla channel from 2007 to 2009. She also directed a single-episode play called Akash Kushum for ATN Bangla in 2009.
Film Appearances
Mustafa made her debut in films with Ghuddi in 1980. In 1984, she acted in Noyoner Alo alongside Zafar Iqbal. She has appeared in many other films. Some of these include Lal Shobujer Pala, Palabi Kothay, Suruj Miah, Opohoron, Durotto, Headmaster, Commander, Khondo Golpo 71, Ankhi O Tar Bondhura, and Shonkhonil Karagar.

Suborna Mustafa is a big fan of cricket. Since 2015, she has worked as a commentator for the sport on Radio Bhumi. She also helps select films for the National Film Awards as a member of the Censor Board.

Personal Life
In 1984, Suborna Mustafa married Humayun Faridi, who was also a Bangladeshi actor. They later divorced in 2008. In July 2008, she married Badrul Anam Saud. He was a co-director for the TV show Dolls House. She is considered one of the most famous actresses in Bangladesh.
