Dejuan Walker (born on January 17, 1970), known by his stage name Suga Free, is an American rapper. He is recognized for his unique style in West Coast hip hop music.

About Suga Free

Suga Free was born in Gardena, California. As a child, he moved around quite a bit. He lived in Oakland, California and Compton, California. When he was 11 years old, his family settled in Pomona, California. This city later became his home base.

His Music Journey

Suga Free started his professional rapping career in the 1990s. He worked closely with the well-known producer DJ Quik. DJ Quik helped produce Suga Free's first album.

Debut Album: Street Gospel

His first album was called Street Gospel. It was released in 1997. This album was quite successful. It reached number 37 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. This showed that many people enjoyed his new music.

Guest Appearances and More Albums

In the year 2000, Suga Free appeared on other artists' albums. He was featured on Xzibit's album Restless. He also appeared on Snoop Dogg's album Tha Last Meal.

He released his second album in 2004. This album was named The New Testament. It also did well, reaching number 72 on the Billboard 200 chart.

His next album, Just Add Water, came out in 2006. The Chicago Tribune newspaper described Suga Free on this album as "charismatic and funny." They also noted his "rapid-fire-yet-conversational style." This means he rapped very quickly but still sounded like he was having a chat.
