Summit is a small town located in Langlade County, Wisconsin, in the United States. In 2010, about 163 people lived there.
A small, unnamed community called Bavaria is also part of the town. Summit used to have its own post office. It opened in 1905 but closed down in late 1921.
Geography of Summit
Summit is in the western part of Langlade County. To its west is Lincoln County. The town is mostly covered by forests and does not have many people living there.
The United States Census Bureau says that Summit covers a total area of about 94.1 square kilometers (about 36.3 square miles). Only a very small part of this area, about 0.06 square kilometers (0.02 square miles), is water.
People of Summit
Based on the census from the year 2000, there were 168 people living in Summit. These people made up 66 households, and 51 of these were families. The town had about 142 housing units.
Most of the people living in Summit were White (about 97%). A small number were Asian or Pacific Islander, or from two or more racial backgrounds.
In terms of households, about a quarter of them had children under 18 living there. Most households (about 63.6%) were married couples living together. Some households (7.6%) had a female head without a husband present. About 22.7% of all households were made up of single individuals.
The people in Summit had different ages. About 24.4% were under 18 years old. About 25% were between 25 and 44 years old. Another 25.6% were between 45 and 64 years old. About 17.9% of the people were 65 years old or older. The average age in the town was 42 years.
