History of Sun Crest

The Sun Crest brand of sodas started a long time ago in 1938. It was created by the National NuGrape Company in Atlanta, Georgia. Sun Crest was part of a group of flavored drinks, like NuGrape, 2-Way lemon lime, and Kickapoo Joy Juice.

In 1968, The Moxie Company bought Sun Crest and NuGrape. This company later changed its name to Monarch Beverage Company. Then, in 2007, Hedinger Brands, LLC. bought Sun Crest from Monarch. They also bought other popular brands like Dad's Root Beer, Bubble Up, and Dr. Wells.

Hedinger Brands, LLC. then let The Dad's Root Beer Company, LLC. make and sell Sun Crest drinks. The main office for The Dad's Root Beer Company is in Jasper, Indiana.

From the 1970s to the early 1990s, Sun Crest sodas were sold in the UK. You could find flavors like lime, sarsaparilla, grape, and cherry. Milkmen even delivered them in glass bottles from Co-Op stores!

Since 2016, the UK part of Sun Crest has also started selling juices. These include exciting flavors like pineapple, passion fruit, grapefruit, and coconut water. You can find these in big supermarkets like Sainsburys. As of 2021, the only Sun Crest soda still sold in the UK is sparkling grape juice.
