These signs now clearly mark Sun Village as its own special community.

On September 3, 2014, leaders from Sun Village and the city of Palmdale met. They signed an agreement called a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). In this agreement, Palmdale agreed to remove its influence from the Sun Village area.

Just like in many other communities in the Antelope Valley, people in Sun Village enjoy local events. They take part in pageants and parades. The community also has its own local chamber of commerce and town council.
