Susúa is a small area, called a barrio, located in the town of Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico in Puerto Rico. In 2010, about 2,736 people lived there.
Susúa's History
After the Spanish–American War in 1898, Spain gave Puerto Rico to the United States. This meant Susúa, like the rest of Puerto Rico, became a territory of the U.S.
In 1899, the United States Department of War took a count of all the people in Puerto Rico. This count, called a census, found that 1,755 people lived in Susúa and the nearby area of Torre.
