Susan Indiaba Wokoma (born December 31, 1987) is a British actress known for her exciting roles in movies and TV shows. You might recognize her as Edith in the Enola Holmes movies, Cynthia in Chewing Gum, or the ghost-hunting Raquel in Crazyhead.

Because of her amazing talent, Susan was named a "Breakthrough Brit" by the BAFTA in 2017. That same year, Forbes magazine listed her as one of the most successful young people in Europe.

Early Life and First Steps in Acting

Susan Wokoma was born in London, England. Her parents were from the Kalabari tribe in Nigeria. She grew up in the Peckham area of London. Her mother worked as a cleaner, and her father had several jobs to support the family. Sadly, her father passed away in 2012, and her mother passed away in 2025.

Wokoma's acting journey started when she was just 14 years old. She appeared on a CBBC show called Serious Jungle, where teenagers had to survive in the wild. She also joined the National Youth Theatre, a special club for young actors. This led to her first professional role in a BAFTA-winning TV movie called That Summer Day.

After finishing school, she studied acting at the famous Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and graduated in 2010.

Television Roles

Wokoma has appeared in many popular TV shows. She played the funny and religious Cynthia in the comedy Chewing Gum. She also starred as Raquel, a demon hunter, in the E4 and Netflix show Crazyhead. For this role, she won a Royal Television Society (RTS) award for Best On-Screen Performance.

She has also appeared in:

Wokoma has also made a name for herself in movies. She played Edith, a martial arts expert and tea shop owner, in the hit Netflix films Enola Holmes and Enola Holmes 2, alongside Millie Bobby Brown.
